Bsonyo at Chillventa 2026: Sonyo's Scroll Compressor Range for R290, A2L and R32
By the Qishanr technical desk. Reviewed 26 October 2026.
Bsonyo is the export brand of Sonyo Compressor (Dalian) Co., Ltd., and the company exhibited at Chillventa 2026 in Hall 4A, stand 4A-118, showing scroll compressors for refrigeration, air conditioning, mobile air conditioning and heat pumps. This article reads the stand against the company's own catalogue: which platforms exist, what the published capacities and COPs are at their stated rating conditions, how the model strings decode, and which figures the manufacturer has not published.
The value of a stand visit is limited by what the exhibitor prints. Sonyo publishes a full technical catalogue with model-level tables, and that catalogue is more useful than any booth summary, because it states the rating point next to every capacity. This article quotes those numbers with their conditions attached, and where the catalogue does not publish a figure, the gap is named rather than filled.

The first four rows are event facts. The middle rows describe the company and the catalogue, not a product. The last row is the boundary of this article: only model strings that appear in a printed table with a stated rating condition are quoted.
What did Bsonyo show at Chillventa 2026?
The stand carried four application banners, in the order refrigeration, air conditioning, mobile air conditioning and heat pump, with compressors displayed on plinths beneath them. That order matches the catalogue, which opens with air conditioning and then works through heat pump, refrigeration, train and electric bus duty. The stand slogan, "To become a world-class scroll compressor enterprise", is the same line the company uses in its exhibition listing.
The product scope is narrow by design. The exhibition listing answers the question "what do you offer" with two words: scroll compressors. There is no rotary line, no reciprocating line and no condensing unit range on the stand. For a buyer this is useful information, because it means every technical claim the company makes is about one compressor type, and comparisons with rotary or reciprocating alternatives have to be made on duty rather than on a like-for-like model number.
Bsonyo product range is documented on the manufacturer's site, and the catalogue splits it into five application sections rather than into product families. That structure is a selection aid: it tells the buyer that the same mechanical platform is configured for several duties, and that the configuration, not the platform, is what changes.
The Chillventa catalogue the company distributes through its exhibition listing is the document quoted throughout this article. It runs five application sections and five nomenclature charts, and it is the only source in this article that carries model-level capacity, input power and COP together with the rating condition.
Why the stand says Bsonyo and the exhibitor list says Sonyo
The two names belong to one company, and the sequence matters for anyone checking references. Sonyo Compressor (Dalian) Co., Ltd. was established in 1994 as Dalian Sanyo Compressor, then traded as Panasonic Appliances Compressor (Dalian), and was renamed Sonyo Compressor (Dalian) in December 2022. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bingshan Group. The Bsonyo brand is the export identity, and it was launched publicly at FEBRAVA in Sao Paulo in September 2025.
That history explains a detail that trips up buyers comparing quotes. The model strings still follow the earlier naming convention: C-SBP, C-SBN, C-SCN and C-SC strings in the current tables are the same style as the Panasonic and Sanyo scroll compressors of the previous two decades. A buyer who searches a current Bsonyo string will often land on a datasheet from the earlier brand. The mechanical envelope is continuous; the ownership, the brand and part of the refrigerant list are not.
The company states the position directly: despite the change of company name and brand, performance and quality remain consistent. Treat that as a company statement rather than a test result, and verify any specific model against a current table before design freeze.
Refrigeration: medium temperature, low temperature and liquid injection
The refrigeration section is the widest in the catalogue, and it separates medium temperature from low temperature rather than offering one range with an extended envelope. In the medium temperature tables the rating point is condensing 43.5 C, evaporating -6.5 C, 8 K subcooling and 18.5 K suction gas temperature, with R404A listed first in that line-up. Four rows show the shape of the range.
| Model | Output | Displacement | Capacity at rating point | Input power | COP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GCB058LA04 | 3.5 HP | 58 cc | 6.3 kW | 2.30 kW | 2.74 |
| GCB067LA04 | 4 HP | 67 cc | 7.6 kW | 2.65 kW | 2.87 |
| GCB100LA04 | 6 HP | 100 cc | 11.2 kW | 3.85 kW | 2.91 |
| GCB110LA04 | 7 HP | 110 cc | 12.3 kW | 4.25 kW | 2.89 |
The low temperature tables move to condensing 50 C and evaporating -10 C, and the COP drops as the lift increases. Two representative rows: C-SC373L3G at 5 HP and 89 cc gives 6.8 kW for 4.70 kW of input, a COP of 1.45; C-SC753L3G at 10 HP and 171 cc gives 13.2 kW for 8.45 kW, a COP of 1.56. The 10 HP row carries a liquid injection remark, which is the mechanism that keeps discharge temperature inside limits at that lift.
Above the rows quoted here the range keeps going, and in September 2026 the company announced a 50 HP scroll for refrigeration duty. That is a large displacement for a scroll, and it is the part of the range that competes directly with small screw and semi-hermetic reciprocating machines rather than with other scrolls.
The refrigeration application page on the manufacturer's site covers the same section of the range, and the tables above remain the operative source for every number quoted here.
Air conditioning: 3 to 25 HP on one platform architecture
The air conditioning tables run from 3.5 HP to 25 HP, mostly on R410A at 50 Hz 380-415 V, rated at condensing 54.4 C, evaporating 7.2 C, 8.3 K subcooling and 11.1 K superheat. The efficiency across that span is remarkably flat, which is the practical argument for standardising on one supplier.
| Model | Output | Displacement | Capacity | COP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SCE058SA01 | 5 HP | 58 cc | 15.1 kW | 3.05 |
| SCG170SA01 | 15 HP | 171 cc | 44.6 kW | 3.24 |
| SCF263PA01 | 25 HP | 263 cc | 70.0 kW | 3.25 |
Two details in that table are worth carrying into a specification. First, capacity scales almost linearly with displacement across the range, at roughly 0.26 to 0.27 kW per cc at this rating point, so a displacement can be used as a first estimate before the exact table is consulted. Second, COP rises slightly with size, from 3.05 at 5 HP to 3.25 at 25 HP, which is the opposite of what a buyer moving from small hermetic rotaries might expect.
The precision air conditioning variants sit in the same section under a separate heading, for computer room and data room duty, with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz columns printed side by side. The 5CG102RA21 at 9 HP and 108 cc gives 27.0 kW at 50 Hz with a COP of 3.20 and 32.4 kW at 60 Hz with 3.22; the 5CG170RA21 at 15 HP and 171 cc gives 44.6 kW at 50 Hz with 3.24 and 54.6 kW at 60 Hz with 3.27. Publishing both frequencies in one row is unusual and it removes a common source of error when a European specification is reused for an export market.
The manufacturer's commercial air conditioning application page covers the same span for built-up and packaged systems, and the printed tables above remain the operative source for every number quoted here.
Heat pump: vapour injection and the 3.3 to 3.4 HCOP band
The heat pump section is where the range diverges most from the air conditioning line, because a heating rating at low ambient needs a different compression process rather than a bigger shell. The catalogue splits standard and vapour injection models, and the vapour injection tables are rated at condensing 50 C and evaporating -7 C with 8.3 K subcooling and 11.1 K superheat.
| Model | Output | Displacement | Heating capacity | HCOP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| C-SBR180H38Q | 5 HP | 83 cc | 14.4 kW | 3.31 |
| C-SCR370H38Q | 10 HP | 171 cc | 30.0 kW | 3.37 |
| C-SCR435H38Q | 12 HP | 205 cc | 35.2 kW | 3.35 |
| 5CF263PA02 | 25 HP | 263 cc | 73.5 kW | 3.37 |
The pattern is consistent: once vapour injection is fitted, HCOP clusters between 3.29 and 3.38 from 3.5 HP to 25 HP. That flatness is the selection advantage. A designer choosing a small monobloc and a designer choosing a 70 kW commercial unit are working with the same efficiency expectation, so the sizing decision can be made on load and refrigerant rather than on an efficiency penalty for going large.
Refrigerant coverage in this section is the broadest in the catalogue: R410A, R134a, R407C, R22, R32 and R454B, R454C and R455A, R515D, and R290, with standard and vapour injection variants in both fixed and inverter builds. The company's R290 series is described as covering 3 to 20 HP in fixed and variable speed versions for heat pump and chiller duty. The heat pump application page on the manufacturer's site covers the same section, including the vapour injection variants.
Mobile air conditioning: trains and electric buses
The mobile section is split into rail and bus, and it is the part of the catalogue where the refrigerant list differs most from the stationary sections. The train tables cover R410A, R407C, R513A and R290; the electric bus tables cover R134a and R513A. Both are offered in DC inverter, AC inverter at 380 V and AC inverter at 220 V builds.
The engineering reason for that split is the operating environment rather than the compressor. A rail unit sees a wide ambient range and long periods at part load, while a bus unit is constrained by the vehicle electrical architecture, which is why the same platform appears with three different drive options. The mobile application page on the manufacturer's site covers the same two segments, but the catalogue prints the mobile capacity tables as page images rather than as text, so no numeric capacity is quoted here.
For a buyer this section is best treated as a capability statement: the company builds mobile scrolls, including inverter versions, and lists R290 among the rail refrigerants. It is not a price list and it does not state which models are type-approved for a given vehicle platform.
How the model strings read, and where the digits mislead
The catalogue carries five nomenclature charts: power-based, capacity-based, and three displacement-based variants. Five charts for one product type is itself the warning. The digits after the series letters do not decode the same way across families, and a buyer who assumes they do will mis-size a machine.
| Family | Example | Digits | Actual displacement | What the digits encode |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SCE / SCG / SCF | SCE058SA01 | 058 | 58 cc | Displacement in cc |
| GCB / LCB | GCB100LA04 | 100 | 100 cc | Displacement in cc |
| C-SBP | C-SBP120H15A | 120 | 40 cc | Capacity code, not displacement |
| C-SBN | C-SBN263H6C | 263 | 52 cc | Capacity code, not displacement |
| C-SCN | C-SCN603H6K | 603 | 137 cc | Capacity code, not displacement |
| 5CG | 5CG102RA21 | 102 | 108 cc | Close to displacement, but not equal |
The rule to carry away is simple: in the newer families the number is the displacement, and in the C-SB and C-SC families it is a capacity code inherited from the previous brand. The 5CG case shows why the boundary cannot be guessed either, because 102 against 108 cc is close enough to look like displacement and wrong enough to matter.
The suffix carries the build. H15, H38, H6, H8, L3, L4, RA, QA and WA all appear in the tables, attached to the same displacement, and they encode voltage, frequency, motor and connection variants rather than capacity. Two strings that differ only in the suffix can differ in refrigerant, in supply and in whether the machine is a single or a tandem build.
What the catalogue does not tell you
Four gaps matter for a real selection, and none of them can be closed by arithmetic.
The first is part-load performance. Every capacity and COP in the catalogue is a single point at a stated rating condition. There is no part-load curve and no seasonal efficiency figure, so an inverter model cannot be compared with a fixed speed model on the printed data alone.
The second is sound. The catalogue does not print sound power or sound pressure levels for the models quoted here, which matters for condensing units sited near occupied space.
The third is the A2L model list. R32, R454B, R454C and R455A all appear as refrigerant rows, but the tables do not map every A2L refrigerant to a full model list, and the choice affects oil, elastomers and charge limits.
The fourth is availability and price. A catalogue is a capability document. It does not state which models are stocked in which region, what the lead time is, or what the unit costs. Those questions belong to the distributor.
Refrigerant rules that decide the selection before the model does
In Europe the frame is Regulation (EU) 2024/573, which sets the HFC phase-down and the equipment bans that push equipment makers toward lower-GWP refrigerants. The regulation does not select a compressor; it removes refrigerant options, and the surviving refrigerant then determines the safety class, the charge limit and the service procedure.
The European Commission's fluorinated greenhouse gases page tracks the same rules in their current form, including the quota steps and the equipment bans that apply at each stage of the phase-down.
The safety class is the constraint that decides more projects than displacement does. R290 is an A3 refrigerant, so a charge limit and a risk assessment apply, and those are settled at system level. R32, R454B, R454C and R455A are A2L, a different class with different limits and different service practice. A platform offered in both classes, as this range is, is commercially useful because it keeps one mechanical envelope, but it does not transfer the safety case from one class to the other.
Performance figures also need a stated basis. EN 12900 is the European standard for rating refrigerating compressors, covering rating conditions, tolerances and the presentation of performance data. A capacity quoted without evaporating and condensing temperatures is not comparable with anything, which is why every figure in this article carries its condition.
Installation requirements are a separate document. The application manual carries the pipework, oil, electrical and handling requirements, and it is not interchangeable between refrigerant classes: an R290 machine and an A2L machine of the same displacement have different requirements for ventilation, leak detection and service procedure.
Demand-side context for the transition is covered by the International Energy Agency's Future of Cooling report, which remains the standard reference for how cooling demand is growing in the markets that buy this equipment.
How to shortlist a Bsonyo scroll for a given duty
| Step | Question | Where the answer comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Which refrigerant is allowed at the destination? | Regulation and the safety class, before any model |
| 2 | Is the duty medium temperature, low temperature, heating or comfort cooling? | Catalogue application section |
| 3 | What capacity is needed at the actual evaporating and condensing temperatures? | Catalogue table at the nearest rating point, then the manufacturer's selection data |
| 4 | Fixed speed or inverter? | Part-load profile of the application, not the catalogue |
| 5 | Single or tandem? | Required capacity against the largest shell offered in that family |
| 6 | Does the socket, voltage and frequency match the site? | Suffix decoding and the printed supply column |
Two habits make that list work. The first is to read the rating condition before the capacity, because a 70 kW figure at one lift and a 70 kW figure at another are different machines. The second is to treat the model string as the unit of truth: the family page tells you what exists, and the table row tells you what the machine does.
If the duty sits between 3 and 6 HP, the stocked range brackets it closely: C-SB303H8A is the 4 HP step, C-SB373H8A the 5 HP step and C-SB453H8A the 6 HP step of the same frame family. For heating duty the vapour injection logic has a stocked parallel in C-SBR235H38A, which carries the C-SBR string used for injection models in this naming family, and for the band above 6 HP in comfort cooling ZP91KCE covers the light commercial class.
For buyers who need a scroll compressor now rather than at the next platform launch, the stocked alternatives we hold sit alongside this range and use the same rating basis, so a like-for-like comparison is possible. The scroll compressor category page is the entry point to our stocked scrolls, the technical download library holds the document set for them, and the technical article index collects the longer technical write-ups.
| Model | Refrigerant and supply as listed | What it is useful for |
|---|---|---|
| C-SB263H8A | R410A, 3-phase | A 3 HP class scroll for comfort cooling, one step below the 4 HP frame |
| C-SB453H8A | R410A, 3-phase | A 6 HP class scroll, the common size for small rooftop and split systems |
| ZSI06KQE | R404A class | A low temperature refrigeration scroll for frozen display and cold room duty |
| ZW166HAP | R407C class | A heat pump scroll for air-to-water heating duty |
The rows above are stocked items with their own product pages, not Bsonyo models, and the refrigerant and supply columns follow our listings rather than the Sonyo catalogue. They are listed here because a buyer comparing a Bsonyo platform against what is immediately available needs the two side by side on the same rating basis.
Frequently asked questions
Where was Bsonyo at Chillventa 2026?
Hall 4A, stand 4A-118, at the NurnbergMesse in Nuremberg. The exhibition ran from 13 to 15 October 2026, and the official Chillventa exhibitor entry is the authoritative record of the stand number and the exhibiting company name.
Is Bsonyo the same company as Sonyo Compressor?
Yes. Bsonyo is the export brand of Sonyo Compressor (Dalian) Co., Ltd., the Dalian manufacturer that traded first as Dalian Sanyo Compressor and later as Panasonic Appliances Compressor (Dalian) before its renaming in December 2022. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bingshan Group.
Does Bsonyo make rotary or reciprocating compressors?
No. The company's exhibition listing and its catalogue describe scroll compressors only, across five application sections. Buyers who need a rotary or a semi-hermetic reciprocating machine are comparing a different compressor type, and the comparison has to be made on duty.
What refrigerants does the range cover?
The catalogue lists R410A, R407C, R22, R32, R454B, R454C, R455A, R515D, R290, R404A, R448A, R449A, R513A and R134a across its application sections, with the widest coverage in the heat pump and refrigeration sections. Not every refrigerant is available in every family.
Why does a 263 model number not mean 263 cc?
Because in the C-SB and C-SC families the digits are a capacity code inherited from the previous brand, not a displacement. C-SBN263H6C is 52 cc and C-SCN603H6K is 137 cc. In the newer SCE, SCG and SCF families the digits do match displacement, which is why the nomenclature charts exist.
Can I compare a Bsonyo COP with another brand's COP?
Only at the same rating condition. The catalogue states condensing and evaporating temperatures, subcooling and superheat next to its tables, and a figure quoted without those four conditions is not comparable. This is the basis EN 12900 formalises for refrigerating compressors.
Are the new R290 and A2L models available now?
The catalogue lists R290 and A2L refrigerants in several sections, and the company announced an R454C inverter scroll for European air-to-water heat pumps in July 2026. Availability by region, lead time and price are not published in the catalogue and have to be confirmed with the factory or an authorised distributor.
Where can I source scroll compressors today?
Our own scroll compressor stock is listed by model on this site, and the stocked items above are the closest analogues to the Bsonyo platforms for comfort cooling, low temperature refrigeration and heating duty. For Bsonyo models specifically, the manufacturer's own product range page and the exhibition catalogue are the primary references.

Model-level numbers in this article come from the basic parameter tables of the catalogue, with the rating condition printed in the same section. Where a table is published as a page image rather than as text, no number is quoted. Product pages on this site were used only for the stocked-item rows, which are not Bsonyo models and are labelled as such.
