Golden Triangle Polymers chose Emerson in equipment automation.

St. Louis, March 13th, 2023 — Emerson (NYSE: EMR), a global leader in intelligent automation and digital transformation, announced it has been selected to provide advanced automation technology, software, and engineering services for the Golden Triangle Polymers project — a world-class integrated petrochemical complex under development on the Gulf Coast of Texas. This multi-billion-dollar facility, a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP and an indirect subsidiary of QatarEnergy, represents one of the largest investments in U.S. chemical manufacturing infrastructure, with an estimated total capital cost of $8.5 billion and planned startup in 2026.

Emerson will deploy its industry-leading digital automation solutions to support safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. The company will supply integrated process control and safety systems based on the DeltaV™ distributed control system (DCS) and safety instrumented system (SIS), ensuring high reliability and regulatory compliance. To enhance process monitoring and quality control, Emerson will implement Rosemount gas analyzers and color spectrometer solutions. Advanced simulation tools, including Mimic™ and AspenTech HYSYS®, will be used for operator training, energy management, safety analysis, and operational optimization, enabling faster commissioning and improved decision-making.

Additionally, Emerson’s AgileOps™ operations management software and expert alarm management services will help plant personnel maintain optimal performance of control and safety systems, reduce operational risks, and improve overall process integrity. This project marks another major deployment of Emerson’s comprehensive automation portfolio in large-scale petrochemical facilities, following similar implementations such as the Ras Laffan Petrochemical Complex in Qatar.
