Highly at Chillventa 2026: Rotary Compressors from 2.72 to 75.2 cc Across Nine Series
By the Qishanr technical desk. Reviewed 28 October 2026.
Shanghai Highly Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. exhibited at Chillventa 2026 in Hall 9, stand 9-408, as the rotary compressor subsidiary of Shanghai Highly (Group) Co., Ltd. The stand was a corner island with bare compressor bodies racked on a lit plinth, a suspended cube carrying the HIGHLY wordmark above it, and a blue skirt line reading New Refrigerant Silent Strength. The back wall carried the line POWERING CORE PERFECTING LIFE, and the literature plinth carried a second line, Powering Every Degree, Across Every Field, Complete Compressor Solutions for Global Industries, with a chart of application sectors beside it. The right hand tower of the second photograph carries the stand number printed on its face panel: Booth: 9-408.
The exhibitor entry describes a company ranked among the world's top three rotary compressor manufacturers, with an annual capacity of 45 million units, nine series and more than 1,000 models, and over 42 percent of the third party air conditioner compressor market. This article reads those claims against the group's own English product pages, against the 31 page group brochure the exhibitor offers for download, and against the twenty two model pages in our own catalogue. It keeps every capacity attached to the model page that prints it, and it names the fields that no source in this set publishes.
The short version for a buyer is that the range is real, wide and electrically varied, that the displacement ladder is the reliable axis, and that the coefficient of performance column on the listings is a placeholder rather than data.

The first nine rows are event and company facts. The next three describe the catalogue rather than a product. The last two are the boundary of this article: every displacement and capacity below comes from a model page that prints both on the same page, and nothing else is quoted as a model level figure.
What did Highly show at Chillventa 2026?
The stand reads as a component display rather than a system display. The compressors sit on the plinth without cabinets, cold rooms or condensing assemblies, which is the signature of a manufacturer selling the compressor to other manufacturers rather than selling a packaged unit to an end user. The wall chart behind the plinth repeats that message in a grid of application sectors, and the exhibitor entry's own application field does the same in text.
The entry lists six keywords: Green Refrigeration, Heat Pump Compressor, HVAC Compressor, Refrigeration Motor, Rotary Compressor and Thermal Management. It lists two products, a Domestic AC compressor and a Commercial AC Compressor, and it lists one downloadable file. Those three facts bound what the stand was selling: rotary compressors for the domestic and light commercial air conditioning market first, with motors and thermal management as the wider group offer.
The entry's We offer field carries 51 separate application entries, from sorption and solar cooling through to close control units and air cleaners. That field is the exhibitor's own machine readable statement of scope, and it is the most useful single block of text on the page, because it can be grouped without inventing anything.
One detail matters for anyone citing this page. The entry publishes no e mail address and no named contact person, only a contact form, so a buyer who needs a named technical contact has to go through the company website or the stand itself.
Who is behind the brand
Three names appear in the entry and they are not interchangeable. Shanghai Highly Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. is the legal entity exhibiting. Shanghai Highly (Group) Co., Ltd. is the listed parent, holding 75 percent of it. Highly is the brand that both use. The 75 percent figure is corroborated independently: the group brochure's organisation chart gives the same 75 percent against the compressor operating company, alongside 100 percent for Hangzhou Fusheng, 66.08 percent for Anhui Highly and 70 percent for the special refrigeration equipment company.
The brochure also lays out the group's own history, and it explains why a rotary compressor company ends up with a motor and a casting business. The group listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1992, formed the Shanghai Hitachi joint venture in 1993, acquired Forest Electric in 2005, set up Nanchang Highly in 2009, opened the India plant in 2013, entered the refrigeration motor business in 2015, set up Highly New Energy in 2017, entered automotive thermal management in 2021 and set up Wuhu Highly New Energy in 2024. The vertical integration is why the same brochure can quote a compressor capacity of 45 million units, a motor capacity of 50 million units, a heat exchanger capacity of 9 million and an air conditioning assembly capacity of 7.2 million.
Two figures in this set do not reconcile, and both are published by the company itself. The exhibition entry says the compressor company runs five world class green manufacturing bases and then names four locations: Shanghai, Nanchang, Mianyang and India. The official Highly compressor page states a manufacturing base count of four. Four is the number that the named locations support, and the fifth may be a site that the sentence does not name, so this article records four and flags the discrepancy rather than choosing silently. The second is capacity: the English product page, the brochure and the exhibition entry all say 45 million units a year, while the older Chinese language group page says 42 million. The three way agreement is stronger evidence than the single older page.
The address on the entry is Ningqiao Road 888, Jinqiao, Pudong, Shanghai, 201206, and the telephone number is +86 021-58548888. The group corporate site carries the same registered identity.
The catalogue as we stock it
Our own Highly category page indexes 472 products under Rotary Compressor, and the site map behind it publishes 471 individual model pages. The prefixes are the only structural signal available, and they split the catalogue into families of very different size: asd 75 models, ash 45, bsa 41, asg 40, sl 37, whp 29, sd 23, sg 21, asl 21, bsd 16, sh 16, ath 14, atl 13, th 12, atd 11, then a long tail of eight or fewer. That census is derived from the site map rather than published by Highly, and it should be read as the shape of what we stock, not as a naming rule.
The twenty two model pages below were read field by field. They are a sample of the 471, chosen to span the prefix families and both electrical designs, and they are not a complete table of the range.

The same reading across the R22 and R134a families:
| Model | Displacement, cc | Capacity, W | Refrigerant | Voltage field |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ASG112RW-B6DT | 11.2 | 3,130 | R22 | 115-120 V, 60 Hz, 1 phase |
| SD122CV-H3AU | 12.2 | 2,040 | R22 | 220-240 V, 50 Hz, 1 phase |
| SL190UV-C7LU | 19 | 3,150 | R22 | 220-240 V, 50 Hz, 1 phase |
| TH410MV-C8LU | 41.8 | 7,100 | R22 | 230 V, 50 Hz, 1 phase |
| SHW73TC2UP1 | 73 | 6,058 | R22 | 208-230 V, 60 Hz, 1 phase |

| BSA357CV-R1AN | 3.57 | 451 | R134a | 220-240 V, 50 Hz, 1 phase |
| BSA272CV-R1AN | 2.72 | 283 | R134a | 220-240 V, 50 Hz, 1 phase |
The smallest model in the sample is BSA272CV-R1AN at 2.72 cc and 283 W, and the largest by displacement is ATE752UC3Q9JK at 75.2 cc, a factor of 27 across the sample. The Highly technical notes carry the three model write ups we have published separately, and the specification sheets and drawings we hold are collected in the technical download library.
What the displacement buys
Dividing the printed capacity by the printed displacement gives a rough capacity density, and the number is a useful screening tool even though no source publishes it. Treated as a derived figure rather than a specification, it separates the sample into three groups.
The air conditioning group sits near 280 W per cc: ASD113XN-F6KGN at 290, ATH356SDPC9FQ at 284, ATH420SDP09EQ at 283, ATL232UDPC9AUL at 281, ATH307CDP at 280 and ASG112RW-B6DT at 280. The last of those runs R22 rather than R410A, which is the first useful warning: the refrigerant does not explain the density, the design intent does.
The mid group sits near 166 to 170 W per cc: TH410MV-C8LU at 170, SD122CV-H3AU at 167 and SL190UV-C7LU at 166. These are the R22 models published with a lower density than the R22 model in the group above, so a buyer cannot infer duty from refrigerant alone in either direction.
The refrigeration and small capacity group runs far lower: BSA357CV-R1AN at 126, WHP00930BSV-H3BU at 112 and BSA272CV-R1AN at 104. SHW73TC2UP1 is the outlier that should not be used for this exercise at all, at 83 W per cc from a 73 cc body, because the printed capacity and the printed displacement do not close with the rest of the family.
The practical consequence is that displacement is a reliable axis for ordering a family and an unreliable axis for comparing across families. A 42 cc ATH body and a 41.8 cc TH body are the same size and differ by 4,800 W on the printed rows.
Three electrical designs, and one field that is not a voltage
The sample covers three distinct electrical designs, and the listings distinguish them clearly once the voltage field is read literally.
The three phase fixed speed group is the ATE family plus ATH420UC-C9EU, all on 380 V, 50 Hz, three phase, all labelled T3. These are the models a light commercial or central plant design reaches for, and the ATE numbers step 55, 65 and 75.2 cc in even increments, which makes them a straightforward ladder above the single phase ceiling.
The single phase fixed speed group runs from 2.72 cc to 42 cc, on either 220-240 V at 50 Hz or, in three cases, on a 60 Hz supply: ASD113XN-F6KGN at 208-230 V, ASG112RW-B6DT at 115-120 V and SHW73TC2UP1 at 208-230 V. Those three are the models to check first when a project is specified on 60 Hz, because they are the only ones in the sample that publish a 60 Hz basis.
The third group is the one that needs care. Five pages print the words DC INVERTER in the voltage field instead of a voltage: ATH420SDP09EQ, ATH356SDPC9FQ, ATH307CDP, ATH307SDP and ATL232UDPC9AUL. That is a drive description, not a supply specification, and no nominal voltage for these five is published anywhere in this source set. A designer can take the inverter label from the listing, but the supply voltage has to come from the data sheet at the point of order.
The ATH307CDP and ATH307SDP pair is worth a separate note, because it is the clearest example of two models sharing a body and differing in tuning. Both are 30.7 cc and both are marked DC INVERTER on T3, and the printed capacities are 8,600 W and 8,710 W. The 110 W difference is small enough that it is a variant of one design rather than two designs, which is exactly the kind of pair a substitution decision turns on.
Refrigerants and the regulation around them
The sample splits three ways. R410A covers the ASD, ASH, ASG130, ATH, ATL and ATE pages. R22 covers ASG112RW, SD122CV, SL190UV, TH410MV, SHW73 and SG148GV. R134a covers the two BSA models and WHP00930BSV. No R32, R290 or CO2 model appears in the twenty two pages read, even though the exhibition entry states that the company has self developed CO2 heat pump compressors and micro cooling compressors and lists Green Refrigeration as its first keyword. The CO2 line therefore exists at company level and is not represented in what we stock.
The regulatory frame sits outside the listings. Regulation (EU) 2024/573 governs fluorinated greenhouse gases in the European Union and sets the phase down schedule that pushes a European buyer away from high global warming potential blends. EN 12900 is the European standard for rating positive displacement refrigerant compressors, and it is the basis on which a capacity table with stated conditions is normally built. Neither document appears in the exhibition entry and neither is needed to read a listing, but both are needed before a rating goes into a tender. The European Commission's fluorinated greenhouse gases page summarises the same regulation in plain language, and the International Institute of Refrigeration publishes the wider technical background on refrigerant choice in stationary equipment.
The gap that matters for a European project is that none of the twenty two pages prints a rating condition beyond the climate label. A capacity of 11,900 W is only quotable next to the evaporating and condensing temperatures it was measured at, and those temperatures are not on the page. That is the single largest omission in this source set.
Applications the exhibitor lists
The 51 entry field groups cleanly into six blocks, and every phrase below is taken from the exhibitor entry rather than inferred.
| Group | Entries named in the exhibition entry |
|---|---|
| Comfort cooling | Split air conditioning units; Multi split air conditioning units; Central air conditioning units; VRF systems; Air conditioning cabinets; Close control units; Compact air conditioning units |
| Commercial refrigeration | Commercial refrigeration; Chilled and frozen food display cabinets; Cold store and frozen food store; Chill room and frozen food storage room; Vending machines; Bottle coolers |
| Process and industrial | Process cooling and drying; Water chiller; Liquid coolers; Compressed air dryers; Switchboard cooling; Industrial refrigeration |
| Heat pumps | Heat pumps for domestic hot water; Heat pumps for buildings; Heat pumps for commercial applications; Heat pumps for industrial applications; Heat pumps for drying; Heat pumps for exhaust air |
| Data centres and clean rooms | Data centers; Clean rooms; Environmental simulation |
| Transport and ice | Transport refrigeration; Vehicle air conditioning; Ice production; Ice storage |
Two of those blocks are supported directly by the group's own English pages rather than by the application field alone. The freezer and cold storage section states an end to end cold chain offer and a first place ranking among medium and large commercial freezer suppliers in China, with supermarkets and cold chain warehouses named as the applications. The heat pump system section states energy efficient heating for buildings, with indoor heating and building heating named, and the refrigeration motor section states a first place global ranking in motors with AC compressor and refrigerator compressor as the applications.
The listing level evidence narrows this further. The ATH and ATE pages carry the T3 label, the ASH, ATH290 and ATL pages carry T1, and the smaller pages replace the climate label with an application string reading AC, drier, refrigeration, chiller and similar. Three different vocabularies in one field is a defect rather than a taxonomy, and it means the application column cannot be used to shortlist without a model by model check.
Why a rotary compressor suits these duties
The group brochure includes a cutaway of the compressor that names five parts: the cylinder, the piston, the crankshaft, the upper cylinder head and the lower cylinder head. The geometry is what makes the format compact and continuous in delivery, and it is the reason the format dominates domestic and light commercial air conditioning rather than heavy industrial refrigeration.
The three phase ATE ladder tells the same story from the other end. A 55, 65 and 75.2 cc progression on one 380 V three phase supply covers a capacity band that would need several reciprocating frame sizes, and it does so with one electrical design across the whole step. For a light commercial chiller or a VRF outdoor unit, that is the argument: a compact body, a single supply basis, and a ladder that steps in even increments.
The limits are equally clear. The sample publishes no high back pressure refrigeration model above the SHW73 range, no transcritical CO2 model and no R290 model, so an industrial refrigeration or a natural refrigerant project is outside what these twenty two pages support. That is a statement about the pages read, not about the company, whose brochure claims a full range of nine series.
Where the sources disagree
Five disagreements are visible without any inference, and publishing all five is the only honest option, because a buyer who finds the other number will otherwise assume a typo.
| Field | One source says | Another source says | Reading |
|---|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing bases | Five, naming Shanghai, Nanchang, Mianyang and India | Four, on the official English product page | Four named sites; the count of five is not supported by the names |
| Annual capacity | 45 million units on the English pages and the brochure | 42 million units on the older Chinese group page | Use 45 million, note the older figure |
| Coefficient of performance | Not published anywhere | 3 on every one of the twenty two pages | Placeholder, not model data; not usable for comparison |
| ATH307CDP capacity | Not published | 8,600 W with 293,446 Btu/h on the same page | The Btu figure is a factor of ten out; 8,600 W is near 29,344 Btu/h |
| ASG130UV-A7AT voltage | Not published | 220-240 V in the detail table, 208-240 V in the summary line | Two values on one page; quote neither without the data sheet |
Two further defects are worth recording because they affect how the pages are read rather than what they say. The displacement field is written ML/REV on most pages and cm3/rev on TH410MV-C8LU, which is the same quantity in two notations. And the Key Features block on the model pages describes IDV technology and manifold configurations, which is scroll compressor language and does not describe a rotary compressor at all, so it should be treated as a template block and ignored.
The wider picture of how the catalogue is organised sits on the model landers, for example the ASG130UV-A7AT page, the BSA418CV-R1AUN page and the WHP02830VUX-C7LQ page, and the Chillventa 2026 exhibition index collects the stand write ups from this show.
How to shortlist a Highly rotary compressor
Start with the electrical design, not the displacement. If the project is three phase at 380 V, the ATE and ATH420UC pages are the only ones in the sample that publish a three phase voltage, and the ladder runs 55, 65 and 75.2 cc. If it is single phase, the choice narrows by supply frequency first: three pages publish a 60 Hz basis and the rest publish 50 Hz.
Second, fix the refrigerant. R410A covers the air conditioning sample, R22 covers the mid and small capacity models, and R134a covers the two smallest and the WHP range. A European project that has to avoid high global warming potential blends should treat the R22 pages as a legacy line rather than a current one, and confirm availability before designing around them.
Third, use displacement to order the family and capacity density to compare across families. A 12.2 cc SD body and an 11.3 cc ASD body look adjacent on a data sheet and differ by 38 percent on the printed capacity.
Fourth, read the climate label as a flag rather than a specification. T3 appears on the ATH inverter pages and the ATE three phase pages, T1 on the ASH, ATH290 and ATL pages, and the small pages carry an application string instead. None of them prints a dry bulb figure, so the ambient basis has to be confirmed before the model is fixed.
Fifth, ask for the rating condition. Every capacity in this article is a printed number without a printed test point. A coefficient of performance cannot be derived from these pages at all, because the field that should carry it reads 3 everywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Where was Highly at Chillventa 2026?
Shanghai Highly Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. exhibited in Hall 9, stand 9-408, at NurnbergMesse in Nuremberg from 13 to 15 October 2026. The official exhibition entry is the authoritative record of the stand number and of the product scope, and the official Chillventa site publishes the exhibitor directory and floor plan behind it. The stand number is also printed on the booth tower in the stand photograph.
Is Highly the same company as Shanghai Highly (Group) Co., Ltd.?
No. Highly is the brand. Shanghai Highly Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd. is the operating subsidiary that exhibited, and Shanghai Highly (Group) Co., Ltd. is the listed parent holding 75 percent of it. The group brochure's organisation chart gives the same 75 percent, and lists the other operating companies at their own stakes.
Does Highly make rotary or scroll compressors?
Rotary. The exhibition entry, the group brochure cutaway and every model page in this sample describe rotary machines, and the brochure's cutaway names a cylinder, a piston, a crankshaft and two cylinder heads. Some listing pages carry a Key Features block that uses scroll terminology such as IDV technology and manifold configurations; that block is a template and does not describe the product.
Which refrigerants do these models use?
Three in the twenty two pages read: R410A on the ASD, ASH, ASG130, ATH, ATL and ATE pages, R22 on ASG112RW, SD122CV, SL190UV, TH410MV, SHW73 and SG148GV, and R134a on the two BSA models and WHP00930BSV. The company also states CO2 heat pump and micro cooling compressors at group level, but no such model appears in our catalogue sample.
Why is there no coefficient of performance for these models?
Because the field exists and is filled with the same value, 3, on every one of the twenty two pages, including models whose printed capacities differ by a factor of forty. A single repeated value across that span is a template entry, not a measurement, so this article does not quote it as a performance figure.
What is the displacement range?
Within the twenty two pages read it runs from 2.72 cc on BSA272CV-R1AN to 75.2 cc on ATE752UC3Q9JK. The wider catalogue as we stock it holds 471 model pages under the Highly prefix, so the true span is wider than this sample and should be confirmed family by family.
Can I compare a Highly model with another brand on displacement alone?
No. Capacity density inside this sample alone runs from 83 W per cc to 290 W per cc, a factor of three and a half, and the spread does not follow the refrigerant. Displacement compares bodies, not duties. Size from the printed capacity and the rating condition, then confirm the displacement.
What does the download on the exhibition entry contain?
It is named 4.pdf and it is a 31 page group brochure covering group structure, business fields, core competences, economies of scale and the carbon neutrality timetable. It publishes no model table, no displacement row and no rating condition, so it supports company level statements and cannot be used to specify a compressor.
